Two thugs who boasted about bashing a homeless man on social media are being hunted by police.
In vile footage shared on Facebook, two young men record themselves in the dark, before turning the camera on a sleeping homeless man, who appears curled up on the stone footpath in Geelong, attempting to keep warm.
One man slurs his words as he describes himself as ‘drug-f**ked’ to the camera, before repeatedly kicking and punching the defenceless man.
The victim attempted to protect his head as the attacker repeatedly screams abuse at him.
‘Get the f**k up. I’m going to punch the f**k out of you,’ he could be heard saying.
The homeless man, identified only as Scott, chose not to press charges against the two attackers.
He has lived on the streets of Geelong for ten years, and said random attacks like the most recent one are not out of the ordinary.
He told the Geelong Advertiser he didn’t know what made them approach him and decide to attack him.
‘It doesn’t matter…I gave a statement of no complaint (to police),’ he said.
Regardless of Scott’s decision, police are investigating the attack.
Superintendent Craig Gillard said ‘police are appalled at this behaviour and violent assault. [We] commit to ensuring the offenders are held accountable for their actions,’
The attackers were identified as Shane Lamb and Adrian Galloway, but in footage obtained by 7News, the pair appear unrepentant.
‘We’re not in the wrong here. We were defending ourselves, we tried letting it go and we wouldn’t normally do that but he pushed us,’ he said in a selfie-style recorded video message.
‘For those of you who called me an ice junkie, f**k you. I’m not an ice junkie, I pop pills, mate.’
